The Importance of Regular Dental Visits

Regular dental visits are incredibly important to help keep your teeth and gums healthy. Your dentist will check for cavities, plague, tartar and anything else that can be of dental health concern. Plaque is a clear, sticky layer of bacteria. If it is not removed, it can harden and become tartar. You cannot remove tartar with brushing and flossing. If plaque and tartar build up on your teeth, they can cause oral sicknesses which no one wants.
It is also very important that you take care of your teeth in between dental checkups. Regular flossing helps prevent decay and slows down the spread of bacteria. Plaque is always building up on your teeth. Brushing teeth twice a day correctly, flossing, using a toothpaste that contains fluoride. It is also good to brush your teeth after meals because some foods get stuck in your teeth!

It is important to teach children from an early age that dental health is extremely important and that checks ups are a must.

If you don’t go to dental visits regularly things like gum disease and even infections could occur. If these things are left unchecked and untreated, it could lead to bleeding gums and in some cases, loss of teeth. You should visit the dentist every 6 months. Going to the dentist is for your health just like going to the doctors. Don’t skip it!
