Plaque is a clear, sticky layer of bacteria. If it is not removed, it can harden and become tartar. You cannot remove tartar with brushing and flossing. If plaque and tartar build up on your teeth, they can cause oral sicknesses which no one wants.
It is also very important that you take care of your teeth in between dental checkups. Regular flossing helps prevent decay and slows down the spread of bacteria. Plaque is always building up on your teeth. Brushing teeth twice a day correctly, flossing, using a toothpaste that contains fluoride. It is also good to brush your teeth after meals because some foods get stuck in your teeth!
It is important to teach children from an early age that dental health is extremely important and that checks ups are a must.
